The Southern California Chapter is pleased to announce the upcoming election for new members and officers for the Board of Directors for the next 3-year  term beginning in 2018. The ICAA Southern California Board of Directors is the governing body for our chapter. The current board is comprised of members who are design leaders, thought provokers and industry trailblazers in their respective fields of architecture, design, craftsmanship, and construction.

Current board members will be nominating people to the Board. If you are interested in being nominated, please contact Diane Sipos by no later than Monday, November 13th for further details. The current Board of Directors will elect new board members and its officers  (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) at its December 6th meeting.

For a full description of the duties and responsibilities, please see below:

  • Participate in short and long-term planning to advance the Chapter’s mission and objectives. 
  • Appoint, support and monitor the Board Officers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary).
  • Assist with strategic planning.
  • Serve a term of three calendar years.
  • Attend Board meetings and General Chapter meetings.  The Board meets quarterly and the Chapter meetings occur every other month.
  • Participate in a daylong Board retreat held annually.
  • Attend chapter programs and events.
  • Review educational and public service programs and recommend changes as needed.
  • Ensure adequate resources and sound fiscal management of the Chapter budget.
  • Participate in the "Give or Get" program: contribute or raise at least $4,000 annually and other fundraising activities. 
  • Preserve institutional independence while also maintaining a spirit of partnership with the National organization.
  • Engage with the community and with outside organizations. 
  • At least two Board members will sit on each Standing Committee and attend their meetings.  The committees include Events, Education, Membership, Development, and other ad-hoc committees determined by the board.
  • Seek opportunities to inform the public about the institution and engage with other organizations to advance the Chapter's goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive Board matters.
