Come discover the important role this extravagant, artistic technique plays in the decorative arts and architecture.  In this class about trompe l’oeil, an ancient paint technique employed to deceive the eye with realistic imagery to create optical illusions, we explore the fascinating history, techniques and application, and the continued relevance trompe l’oeil has on today’s design.

Based in Santa Monica, California, Darren Franks leads a team of multi-disciplinary artisans in the design and installation of the decorative arts and murals for an elite clientele.  His work is featured in books and regularly appears in Architectural Digest, Robb Report, Interiors, The New York Times and Wall Street Journal.  He collaborates with highly-regarded interior designers and architects, and is commissioned on some of the most prestigious projects around the world.
