SOLD OUT – Bellosguardo Tour

Please join the ICAA Southern California for an in-depth look at the mythical Bellosguardo estate, overlooking the Pacific. Built in 1902, this Italianate Villa was named Bellosguardo for “beautiful lookout,” an incredibly apt moniker. In 1923, William Andrews Clark purchased the home from the Graham family. Once known as the copper king, Clark passed away two years after purchasing Bellosguardo.
During the Depression, Clark’s widow Anna set out to create something of her own, and tore down the original estate. Enlisting Reginald Johnson, Anna created the French-style, solid concrete home we see today.

Anna and her sole child Huguette, began to retreat from society, and rarely left the estate. When Anna passed in 1963, Bellosguardo became suspended in amber, and remained under the upkeep of the estate managers for $40,000/month, never to be inhabited again. Huguette chose to spend the last two decades of her life inside a hospital room in New York City, passing away in 2011.

The Clark family is one of the most influential families in California history, and we hope you can join us to learn more about this fascinating estate.
