The Power of Collaboration – Ferguson & Shamamian Architects & ODG Interiors

For any architect or designer, the most extraordinary residences derive from successful collaboration – when inspired designers buoy each other’s creativity and expertise to create a project greater than the sum of its parts. This is especially true for Ferguson & Shamamian Architects and Ohara Davies-Gaetano of ODG Interiors-who are working together on a number of exciting projects. This event, a conversation with Ohara Davies-Gaetano, founder of ODG Interiors, and M. Damian Samora and Andrew Oyen, partner and principal at Ferguson & Shamamian Architects—will offer an enlightening look at how these projects come together, from the first sketch on a napkin, through the detailed design and construction processes, to the beautifully-realized finished residence. As they open the doors to new projects from both of their firms and talk about the exciting projects they have in the works together, they will share how their collaborative approach allows them to design truly singular homes that reflect the lives and personalities of their clients.

OHARA DAVIES-GAETANO – Established in Los Angeles in 2009, ODG Interiors provides residential design services for clients across the globe, with satellite offices in Montana, New York City, and Palm Beach. The firm handles projects of every type and scale, from a vineyard estate in Sonoma to a 900-acre cattle ranch outside Dallas to a Mediterranean villa in Florida. Ohara’s designs have been featured in Architectural Digest and Elle Decor.
Ohara was born and raised in New York City in a family of artists and designers who stressed the supreme importance of creative expression. She honed her craft from the ground up, fabricating adobe bricks in Mexico, weaving textiles in Guatemala, and restoring centuries-old stone buildings in Italy. One of the hallmarks of her practice is the curation and placement of fine art, a passion she has nurtured her entire life. Rejecting a signature style or a cut-and-paste approach to design, she creates rooms that develop organically in response to their specific architectural context, landscape, and the individual spirit of the people who inhabit them.
