Founded in 1969 in Mexico City, Loyzaga is a multidisciplinary practice focusing on the preservation of traditions within architecture, interiors, furniture, and the decorative arts. Informed by a passion for classic design, heritage, and timeless craftsmanship, as well as Loyzaga’s training in the restoration of historical monuments, the firm’s sophisticated perspective of architecture and interiors translate time-honored style and local traditions into a contemporary, international visual language.

Their new release, Classical and Harmonic Proportions Architecture of a Gracious Lifestyle will be presented by Fernanda and Sophia Loyzaga, as well as the book’s photographer, Mauricio de la Garza. We hope you can join us for this exciting evening.

Sophia Loyzaga is the CEO of Loyzaga Design. With a background in fashion, Sophia has taken 50 years of the firm’s history and consolidated Loyzaga Design as a distinct entity, introducing a collection of furniture and decorative objects while driving its expansion onto the international stage. With a lifetime of dedication to classicism, Sophia’s involvement sustains her father’s vision for future generations and will allow the beauty created by Loyzaga to continue.

Fernanda Loyzaga is an architect celebrated for her ability to blend timeless elegance with innovation. A graduate of Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, her work reflects a profound appreciation for cultural heritage and sustainable design, seamlessly integrating traditional craftsmanship into architectural contexts that honor classical principles.

After graduating at the top of her class, Fernanda joined the renowned architectural firm Taller de Arquitectura Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo, where she contributed to and managed acclaimed projects, including cultural centers, boutique hotels, and private residences. Her commitment to community is exemplified by her social service in Oaxaca, where she taught local communities to construct sustainable homes using indigenous methods and materials.

Mauricio de la Garza Clariond was educated as an architect, born as a traveler and photographer, Mauricio de la Garza Clariond has always believed in the importance of the Classical aesthetics and philosophies. When studying architecture in Mexico, Mauricio participated in several exchange programs in Florence and Rome, where he studied Classical, Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture. And that is when his relationship with Italy began. Art, architecture, traveling and photography are all basic mediums for appreciating our world.
