Measured Drawing Class taught by Serena Ettelson, Harrison Design

Please join us for a measured and analytical drawing study led by Serena Ettelson at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. Participants will practice the careful analysis of architecture by measuring and drawing its details and proportions.

The Courthouse is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture in the United States and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Designed by architect William Mooser III and completed in 1929, the courthouse furthered the architectural character that has become synonymous with the city. Combining Moorish, Andalusian, and Mediterranean influences it painted a romantic ideal for California life and identity in the 20th Century.
